Our client who are a leading provider of Corrugated Packaging are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to manage an existing portfolio of accounts and develop new business opportunities in the West Midlands region.
Formulate and implement the sales strategy and develop and deliver an action plan, focused on managing a portfolio of accounts and new business development and added value business generation, to achieve targeted levels of sales growth and maximise profitability.
Identify and develop new markets within the geographical area which match the company's manufacturing capabilities and strategic direction, in a profitable and timely manner.
Negotiating contracts and 'partnership' development with customers to promote long term, mutually beneficial business objectives.
Selling original and effective solutions to customers packaging problems through close liaison with Design Technical, Quality and Operations departments.
Gathering and reporting commercial intelligence which ensures early identification of opportunities and potential for new added value business.
Producing detailed visit reports to provide account information for all relevant people within the organisation.
Skills & Experience
Possess a proven track record of managing accounts and new business in a field sales position.
Strong understanding of the packaging industry, ideally Corrugated.
Possess excellent negotiating skills and a drive to discover new markets.
Be a self-starter, being highly motivated with the ability to set their own goals and objectives as well as being part of the team.
Have a flexible, enthusiastic approach and possess excellent communication skills.
You will receive a basic salary of circa £40k-£50k kpa + (DOE) with Bonus, company car, 25 holidays and other benefits.
