Our client is a UK leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging solutions and they are looking to appoint Business Development Manager to cover the South of the UK.

Role Purpose

To target and secure profitable new business within the agreed territories, this role is roughly split 20% Account Management and 80% business development, depending on your location. To maintain and develop sales with existing customers.  Selling a comprehensive range of Corrugated solutions to multiple manufacturing sectors.

 

Key accountabilities

To achieve individual sales budget and margin return in relation to the business plan.

To achieve team sales budget and margin return in relation to the business plan.

To achieve all individual and team KPI's as they are agreed.

Prepare and agree annual sales budget with Sales Manager.

To achieve all budgeted targets on sales territory by managing the business and relationships with existing customers, monitoring order levels and maximising new business opportunities with these customers.

To manage the debtor days of the area customers within confines of the business plan.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the market all users of corrugated packaging on the sales territory, to maintain a calling relationship with all major users in order to develop new business. 

To be responsible for the management of the route to market within a given sales area.

To seek to add value to business supplied by identifying opportunities to change specification or customer work practices and support credit control when agreed territory terms are not met.

To provide market intelligence relating to competitor activity.

To attend promptly to customer complaints and recommend appropriate action to resolve issues.

Maintain regular contact with the Sales manager, Sales Office Manager and Sales Coordinators.

Submit a monthly report in the agreed format.

Submit a sales pipeline on a monthly basis together with the monthly report.

To submit monthly expense claims to the Sales Manager, fully supported by receipts.

To maintain the company car to a required standard.

To perform any other specific function which may be required as directed by the Sales Manager.

 

Package

Basic salary £35k-£45k + bonus, car, mobile, laptop & 25 holidays + stats

Hours are to suit customer and business requirements
