Cloud 9 are on the hunt for a Quality Manager to join a well-respected leading packaging company for their food and medical sector.  Based in the Staffordshire/Shropshire area you will lead and be responsible for the quality assurance team, and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers alike ensuring productivity and boosting profits.  You will have quality assurance experience in the packaging or food industry and have the confidence to coach, train and lead your team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful and dynamic organisation!  

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director you will develop quality process links with customers, manage the audit programme/supplier development, closely working with all directors, managers/supervisors and employees to maintain continuous improvements and achieve quality targets.

Your key responsibilities will be:

To manage, train and develop the quality assurance team, and improve problem solving techniques with the production teams
To deal with customer complaints
To detect and decide on those projects needing improvement
To identify new product solutions to improve efficiency and quality 
To implement company quality procedures, standards and specifications
To undertake supplier evaluations identifying quality requirements of raw materials
To implement preventative and corrective actions where necessary
To be responsible for the awareness of all employees regarding quality
To work with all departments to ensure test methods are correct
To manage KPI's and create and communicate reports to customers, suppliers and internal departments 
To take control of, and implement, all related standards e.g BRCGS, ISO and FSC

The Person

You will:

Have quality assurance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Be knowledgeable of BRC packaging and/or food standard
Have experience and an understanding of ISO 9001 and the QMS
Be driven in nature to implement change
Have a working knowledge of modern lead manufacture techniques and problem-solving techniques
Have good computer skills
Be able to communicate clear and concise on all levels 
Have the ability to lead, coach and train a team


You will receive a salary of circa £30k+ DOE
