Our client based in the Midlands are looking to add to their external sales team by the appointment of a Sales Manager into their successful Sales Team.
Accountable for the Sales of Metal Detection/Checkweighing and X-Ray products and services to UK accounts covering a network consisting of Key Accounts & Direct Sales.
This role will require the expansion and development of the market, building on existing and developing new accounts. This will be achieved by means of both identifying the customer’s requirements and aligning our client’s business offerings to these opportunities with the ultimate aim of securing new business, improving customer satisfaction and ensuring ongoing, profitable growth within this sector.
This will be utilised through several methods, for example but not limited to, working with the Commercial Manager and wider Sales team to identify and recognise sales potential, target new and existing customers and increase our clients market share within the UK.

Implementation of necessary activities in order to maintain and develop existing customers/OEMS/Key Accounts
Ensure that sales achieve an acceptable level of margin.

Consistent use of CRM system to provide regular reporting and update of account activity.
Commercial terms applied
Work with colleagues to develop accurate and relevant support materials / information
Establish solid working relationships with key account representatives
Participation / Manning exhibitions or events
Development of existing accounts both technically and commercially
Identification new sales opportunities
Provide an efficient and friendly service of customer care through the prompt and professional handling of complaints and enquiries
Identification and prioritisation of New sales opportunities with Blue chip accounts working at a strategic level.
Establish and communicate new features and markets which will increase sales opportunities / volumes
Identification of new applications and services with existing customers
Product alignment to satisfy requirements
Skills & Experience Required
Food / Packaging industry understanding (Essential)
Microsoft Word, Excel
Outlook Email or similar system
Use of a CRM system
Flexibility and the ability to respond well to change and pressure (calm and unflappable!)
Ability to positively influence and build effective relationships
A personable approach with a good telephone and communication skills
Self-motivation and energy
Strong planning and organisation skills
A meticulous approach and a high level of accuracy, demonstrating strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Clean Driving Licence
We are keen to speak with candidates with a technical sales bias in the food, processing and packaging (ideally Metal Detection/Checkweighing/Xray) sectors; with 5-7 years’ experience. You may have a maintenance/service engineering, aftersales or sales background.
This will be a national role; you must be based within the Midlands region as there is a requirement to visit our client’s offices 3-4 times a month.
You will have a key focus on new business as well as contacting and servicing existing customers.
