Sales Manager (Export)

Our client is a leading manufacturer of industrial metal detectors & Checkweigher equipment for the food processing, pharma, chemical and lumber sectors.

Due to on-going expansion and development they are looking to appoint a new Sales Manager for their export division to complement their team.

The successful candidate will be required to contribute to profitable growth from territories covered by our client in Europe – EMEIA.

This will be achieved through supporting existing representatives to manage and develop their customer base and to identify and progress new opportunities.  You will need to establish productive relationships with the representatives and advance the interests of our client’s business.

The role will consist of an element of new business development; identifying and progressing opportunities with new and developing overseas accounts/territories.  This will most likely be focused on Russia, India and The Middle East or German speaking and Nordic countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia).  In the case of the latter, fluency in German would be required.

The postholder will increase sales of certain product sectors, in particular a new Checkweigher range, through the existing distributor network where appropriate but also to the wider market.  You will be required to carry out training on all our client’s products, review and offer technical solutions to projects, carry out joint customer visits and provide exhibition support for existing representatives and new prospects

An engineering background and technical sales capability, ideally in the field of Product Inspection and preferably Checkweighing would be beneficial to support the activity areas outlined above. 

Travel requirements will likely be 1-2 overseas trips per month maximum, these could vary from 1-2 days and over a week.     

Responsibilities

•         Meeting / Exceeding financial sales target

•         Ensure that sales achieve an acceptable margin level.

•         Identification of new sales opportunities and distributors for new territories.

•         Identification/promotion of new opportunities with Representatives.

•         Product alignment to satisfy enquiries/ requirements.

•         Promote and support sales of new product line through existing and new channels. 

•         Establish solid working relationships with existing and new account representatives

•         Participation / Manning exhibitions or events

•         Develop existing representatives both technically and commercially.

•         Provide effective customer care through prompt and professional handling of enquiries

•         Handle sales enquiries

•         Create application specifications

•         Submit proposals

•         Agree and apply commercial terms

•         Adherence and compliance to agreed Contracts

•         Maintain accuracy of reporting and data base information

•         Regular and consistent use of CRM system to provide regular reporting and update of sales activity.

Remuneration

You will receive a high basic salary in line with your experience, commission, car, 25 hols
