Senior Structural Designer

Cloud 9 are working with a long established, award-winning corrugated company who are looking to add to the design team by the appointment of a Senior Structural Designer.  Based in the Midlands you will be responsible for creating innovative design briefs and specifications for customers and colleagues.  There will be occasional travel to meet with customers. We are looking for an experienced structural designer within the corrugated sector of the packaging industry.  If this sounds of interest, please read the job brief below:

Key Responsibilities

Create and deliver a high standard of innovative design briefs for both customers and colleagues that are suitable for manufacture.

Contribute to final products and sign off orders.

Design accurate working drawings and specifications to customers exact requirements.

Provide operational support as needed.

Ensure high levels of customer service through excellent communication skills with both colleagues and customers.

Ensure efficiency and cost-effective solutions in order to maximise sales growth, working within company budgets and timescales.

Create 3D renders using packaging design software.

Support and mentor colleagues and customers providing technical guidance where required.

Attend customer sites for meetings and presentations, providing solutions where necessary.

Support and work closely with the marketing team.

Support company goals and keep appraised of new products to best assist customers in their requirements.

Undertake other tasks as and when required by management.

The Person

Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the corrugated sector of the packaging industry.

Experience of AG Autocad, corrugated machinery and knowledge of Fefco standards.

Innovative in delivering packaging solutions.

Abilit to interpret and follow briefs.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong focus on delivery a first-class customer service.

Conscientious with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Ambitious, driven and motivated.

Flexible, reliable and punctual.

Remuneration

You will receive a salary of up to £40k DOE.
