Business Development Manager – Point of Sale Packaging

Cloud 9 have been exclusively retained by a well-established and highly regarded packaging manufacturer to appoint a Business Development Manager into a key, strategic sales role.
This is a UK-wide field sales position focused on the Point of Sale (POS) market, with a strong emphasis on FSDUs, alongside RRP and SRP solutions. The role will suit someone who thrives in a project-led sales environment, enjoys winning new business, and is comfortable managing opportunities end-to-end rather than relying on repeat orders.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a small portfolio of existing accounts while proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities across the UK. Sales are typically project-based, with each opportunity pitched and won on its own merit — requiring strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and the ability to position value rather than price.
While repeat business is not the core driver, success in this role comes from building long-term customer relationships, ensuring you and the business are consistently invited to tender for future projects.
You’ll work closely with internal sales, design, commercial and production teams, taking ownership of projects from initial brief through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, target and win new POS packaging opportunities across the UK
Manage a small portfolio of strategic customer accounts
Lead sales projects end-to-end, from concept and pitch through to execution
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers to secure repeat project inclusion
Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver commercially viable solutions
Challenge the status quo and bring fresh thinking to customer solutions
Maintain a high level of autonomy and personal accountability in a field-based role
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
Proven POS display experience within the packaging industry
A strong hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business
Experience in a field-based sales role
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
An understanding of contract / co-packing environments and basic manufacturing processes
Confidence managing complex, project-led sales cycles
A proactive, self-motivated and autonomous working style
Full flexibility and willingness to travel extensively across the UK
