Factory Manager

Cloud 9 are supporting a well-established paper-based packaging manufacturer in the Northwest with the appointment of a Factory Manager.

This is a succession-focused opportunity, with the successful individual working alongside the current Factory Manager ahead of a planned retirement within the next 12 months. It would suit an experienced Shift Manager ready to step up into a broader leadership role.

The primary objective of the position is to manage the existing production team, maintain a positive and engaged culture, and ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end production process and maintain the production schedule
• Provide timely and accurate updates to senior management and the sales team
• Ensure products are manufactured to required quality standards and delivery timelines
• Adhere to all quality, health & safety, and operational procedures
• Control stock levels of raw materials and finished goods
• Provide feedback to the estimating function on timings and costs
• Lead, develop and support the production team to achieve operational objectives
• Drive best practice and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage and resolve production and quality issues promptly and professionally
• Manage staffing levels in line with production requirements

Experience & Profile

• Experience within a paper packaging manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong management, planning and leadership capability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and production systems
• Strong interpersonal skills — able to work collaboratively and independently
• Engineering exposure beneficial but not essential

Package

• Basic salary depending on experience
• Full-time, permanent position
