Production Manager

Cloud 9 are working exclusively on a senior management position, this is a key hire for an experienced Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of production within a well-invested manufacturing site in the packaging sector.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll play an important role in driving production performance, improving efficiencies and supporting the ongoing development of the production operation.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of production, ensuring output, quality and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on production leadership, team development and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the production team to create a positive, accountable and high-performing environment
• Driving production efficiency through effective planning, scheduling and resource management
• Monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing practical solutions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production function
• Ensuring consistent product quality, print standards and overall output performance
• Promoting and maintaining high standards of Health & Safety on site
• Working closely with maintenance, quality and planning teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Monitoring production data and KPIs to support decision-making and performance improvements

• Manage waste and fleet in line with the Company Environmental goals
• Supporting stock control, waste reduction and general production best practice
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met

The Person

This role will suit an experienced Production Manager or aspiring senior Production Leader with a strong background in manufacturing, ideally within the packaging sector. Candidates from related manufacturing environments will also be considered, though you must have experience of managing a production team.

You’ll be a visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable on the shop floor, able to engage teams and drive performance through practical leadership.

Key experience and attributes include:

• Proven experience in a production-focused leadership role
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, efficiency and continuous improvement
• Experience leading and developing production teams in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to improve processes
• Strong communication skills
• Hands-on, approachable leadership style
• IOSH or similar Health & Safety awareness (desirable)
• Experience working within ISO environments (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001)
