Key Responsibilities

Conduct regular planned preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment, ensuring tasks are completed competently and documented accurately. Identify and address potential issues in a timely manner.

Minimise downtime through swift attendance and repairs of breakdowns and failures. Ensure speedy resolution through working closely with production.

Take part in engineering projects to improve production efficiency, reliability, and safety.

As part of ongoing projects install, commission and modify equipment together with colleagues.

Support initiatives by identifying process optimisation opportunities and implementing best practices in maintenance measures.

Comply to all regulations ensuring a safe working environment.

Conduct risk assessments, implementing corrective procedures as required.

Ensure detailed records of maintenance activities are kept.

Demonstrate strong technical ability in fault-finding, control systems, and automated production equipment, applying both electrical and mechanical principles.

Use mechanical and electrical RCA to undertake effective fault diagnosis.

Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Develop a strong understanding of processes the company utilises, suggesting any improvements to align with their continuous improvement culture.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

Engineering Qualification; NVQ level 3+ with significant experience in Electrical and Mechanical or have an appropriate apprenticeship.

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair faults.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Significant experience in root cause analysis related to technical problem solving.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.

Good communication skills, giving the post-holder the ability to deal confidently with a range of people at all levels.

Good IT skills.

Ability to work autonomously to a high standard, either alone or as part of a wider team.

Self-motivated with a commitment to personal development.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Remuneration

Pay: £22.91 per hour + shift allowance (£70 per week).  C. £53,675pa Including shift allowance, plus other attractive benefits packaging please apply for more information.

Shifts: 28-day continental rotation - 14 days on, 14 days off (3 days on, 2 nights on, 5 days off, 2 days on, 2 nights on, 5 days off, 2 days on, 3 nights on, 4 days off)
Hours: 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am (12-hour shifts)
